Overview of Project

ES2 is working with the Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas to deliver a unified controls solution incorporating HVAC, lighting, and access controls for their entire campus. This has developed through multiple projects with the customer over the years.

The 205,000-square-foot Immanuel Baptist Church houses a 200-seat chapel, 2,500-seat worship center, 200-seat youth center, 500-seat fellowship hall, family recreation center, full-service kitchen, offices, classrooms, and choir rehearsal room. Originally built in 2003, the church’s HVAC system received a complete update including the chiller plant, air handlers, and VAV boxes. ES2 provided controls to manage these systems with Automated Logic’s WebCtrl software, as well as lighting and exterior access controls for the building, all from one central interface.

With the church’s acquisition of a former Kroger building nearby came the 47,000-square-foot City Center. The City Center’s purpose is community outreach, and the building has been renovated to serve this purpose utilizing two wings. The CARE Side houses a food pantry, clothes closet, prayer room, dental clinic, and additional resources for those in need. The Development Side has classrooms used for adult education and space that can be rented for events. The renovation of this 31-year-old building required extensive updates, including the HVAC systems and controls. ES2 provided HVAC, lighting, and access controls, and brought the building into the church’s campus in WebCtrl.

ES2’s latest project with the church is a new addition on the north entrance of the main building which features a Preschool, Kids Area, and Media Center. The additional space required expansions to the plant, including a new chiller, pumps, and cooling tower, for which ES2 provided controls and incorporated into the church’s WebCtrl server, along with lighting and access controls.

Tim Childress, the Director of Operations and Engineering for Immanuel Baptist Church, said he chose to work with ES2 after hearing a testimonial from another satisfied customer and researching Automated Logic’s WebCtrl software and user platform. Tim said of ES2 Technician Aaron White, who has worked on and oversaw projects with the church, “I think highly of Aaron. He is capable and knows his stuff. His customer service goes above and beyond. He has a mindset that he will make sure to solve any problem that arises.”

ES2’s work with Immanuel Baptist Church showcases just a few of the many projects ES2 has worked on for religious organizations. ES2’s unified control platform and vast knowledge of building automation systems help to ensure faith center occupants can worship in comfort and that the building owner is able to monitor the building efficiency of their HVAC, lighting, and access controls all from one convenient central interface.
