Overview of Project

ES2 has served the South Tulsa Surgery Center with design build solutions and mechanical services, a WebCtrl building automation system, and TAB services for the last eight years. We are proud to support this state-of-the-art facility for specialist outpatient surgeries and procedures in this long-term partnership.

ES2 originally provided the Automated Logic WebCtrl system for this facility in 2015. We provided training to help them better understand and leverage the automation system, and we have performed regular preventative maintenance in the years since.

Once our controls were in place, we worked with the building owner to review the existing HVAC system and various challenges they were experiencing. Based on our recommendation, spray foam was added to the attic and we installed a dehumidifier, which greatly improved their ability to control moisture. However, they still needed better space conditions in the operating rooms, sterile hallway, and pre- and post-op areas.

As the design-builder, ES2 managed a full engineering redesign to meet these strict space conditioning needs. With a new design in hand, we provided budget numbers on construction cost and then proceeded with managing construction. This project included installation of new HVAC equipment, modification of the controls sequence, and test adjust and balance services. We installed four split systems and one rooftop makeup air unit, all manufactured by AAON. Our mechanical team had 15 days to remove the existing systems, install the new systems, and ensure that they were fully operational to support the surgery center’s procedure schedule.

As part of our ongoing support for South Tulsa Surgery Center, ES2 provides routine preventative maintenance for the controls and mechanical systems and quickly dispatches service calls as needed to avoid a disruption to scheduled surgeries. Our NEBB certified Test and Balance Technicians also perform the annual recertifications on their ORs, sterile hallway, and all positive/negative pressure locations.

With ES2’s products and services in place, South Tulsa Surgery Center can run automatically and maintain and demonstrate compliance with the strict temperature and humidity requirements for their healthcare operations.
