We would like you to meet our team member, Rhonda Terry. Rhonda is the Corporate Administrator for ES2 and has worked at ES2 for fifteen years.
Are you originally from Oklahoma?
I was born in Vernon, Texas, and when I was about 7 years old, I moved to Moore, Oklahoma.
Tell me about any certifications, degrees, or training you have?
I have no formal education, but after graduating from high school, I began working for two general contractors in the OKC market. I joined Derrick Construction from 1982 to 1985, and then I worked with Terry McMaster at McMaster Construction. I stayed with McMaster for 22 years. Since then, all of my education and training have come through on-the-job experience, with oversight and guidance from our CPAs. I’ve worked in the construction trade for over 40 years.
Are you a member of any organizations?
As the Corporate Administrator, my responsibilities include many accounting and human resource tasks. I am a member of SHRM, which is the Society of Human Resource Management.
Tell me what your experience working for ES2 has been like?
Being with ES2, since the organization's early days, there have been lots of growing pains but also many amazing opportunities and accomplishments I have witnessed; From being one of the few ALC dealers to win Dealer of the Year twice—despite having one of the smallest workforces—to completing high-profile projects like the Devon World Headquarters. We have worked hard to become an industry leader and build teams that live our core values and high-performance standards. I, like my coworkers, take pride in saying that I work for ES2.
Describe a typical workday for you?
That’s a loaded question because every day is the same, but with different levels of challenges to be taken care of. I have developed my team to be efficient, and they have taken a lot of the day-to-day tasks away, allowing me to focus on the overarching view of all our branches. I would say the busiest time for me would be closing the month prior, so the first 5-8 days of the month are chaotic, but I truly enjoy it.
What is your favorite aspect of your job?
The challenge the numbers present me. Sometimes it’s an easy solution, but some days it takes a little extra investigation (sometimes days) to figure out why or how something happened. We ensure that all our software platforms present the necessary information to the people using those platforms across the board.
Do you have any hobbies outside of work?
First and foremost, I am a mom of two adult children and my stepdaughter. I enjoy spending time with them and my six grandchildren when I can. I enjoy traveling, especially to the beach. I enjoy going to church, listening to podcasts, and attending my granddaughter’s sporting events.
Are you a sports fan?
I like sports. I don’t really have loyalty to any one team. I enjoyed participating in our office Fantasy Football league in the past, and maybe we can start it up again this season.
Tell us about your family?
I have been married to my husband Pat for 35 years this year. We have two children, Parker and Sydney, and my stepdaughter, Ashley. I genuinely love my newest title of Nana.
